It has been an amazing few days for Alice PR, as we were named Agency of the Year at the annual PR Awards on Friday.

We also picked up an award in the ‘Best Use of Media Relations’ category – and received commendations in two further categories. And then, on Saturday, we celebrated our sixth birthday!

Awards Success

The annual PR Awards – officially the Awards for Excellence in Public Relations – are hosted by the PRCA and the Public Relations Institute of Ireland, and have run for almost 30 years. Each year, they celebrate the very best work of the Irish PR industry over the previous 12 months.

We were thrilled with our success across four different categories at this year’s awards:

  1. Winner of PRCA Agency of the year (with up to 10 employees).
  2. Winner of ‘Best Use of Media Relations’ – for our work with the Family Resource Centre National Forum on the ‘FRCs: Supporting Families During the Covid-19 Crisis’ campaign last year.
  3. Highly commended in the ‘Best Integrated Campaign’ category – for our work with the Higher Education Authority on last year’s Springboard+
  4. Highly commended in the ‘Best PR Event’ category – for our work with SOLASon the launch of a new strategy for the further education and training (FET) sector.

Judges’ Citations

In their citation for the ‘Agency of the Year’ category, the judging panel said Alice PR had “focused on delivering with a purpose for their clients through creative, forward-thinking and award-winning campaigns; and on recruiting and retaining a strong staff by focusing on their wellbeing and contributing to the public relations profession. It was also financially resilient with ambitious commercial targets.”

For our win in the ‘Best Use of Media Relations’ category, we faced stiff competition from the HSE, Tesco Ireland, and the Irish Car Carbon Reduction Alliance. Similar to previous years, this category attracted the highest overall number of entries – at 28 in total.

The judges noted our campaign for the FRNCF was a “well planned and targeted campaign that was backed up by firm research. This low-budget fact-based campaign told a clear story and demonstrated very good value for money.”

Testament to our Team and Clients

Commenting on our success in the awards, our MD, Martina, said: “The team at Alice has worked incredibly hard over the past year – and, indeed over the past six years – to ensure the company’s success.

“We are so proud of being selected Agency of the Year, and of our success in the awards overall. It is a huge testament to our brilliant staff and our brilliant clients. It’s also very timely that this coincides with our sixth birthday.”
