Our MD has been appointed to the board of the PRCA

We're delighted to announce that our founder and Managing Director, Martina Quinn, has been appointed to the board of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Ireland (PRCA).

Established in 1989, the PRCA represents the interests of the top PR consultancies in Ireland.  It provides a forum for members to communicate with each other, as well as with government and other public bodies and associations.  It also represents the Irish PR sector in the media and internationally.

Alice PR & Events joined the PRCA last year.  Membership requires meeting strict entry requirements – agencies must demonstrate why their experience, skills and creativity rank them amongst the best consultancies in the world. PRCA Consultancy Management Standard

At Alice PR, one of our proudest achievements of the past year was securing the PRCA Consultancy Management Standard (CMS), an internationally recognised quality management system for public relations firms.

To be awarded the CMS, firms are independently audited to assess the systems and processes they have in place to conduct their business.  Essentially, the CMS provides quality assurance to our clients, employees and other stakeholders that we operate to best practice in the areas of professional practice, corporate and financial governance, evaluation, client relationships, and people management. Martina was appointed to the PRCA Board at the Association's AGM, which took place at the Merrion Hotel in Dublin today.

"I have received incredible support from the PRCA and PRII since I set up Alice PR five years ago," she says.  "I believe our industry thrives when agencies and individuals support each other, and – as a PRCA Board member – I will work to progress mentoring and networking initiatives for PR leaders.

"I will also work to enhance public understanding of our profession, and the positive contribution it makes.  And I will prioritise recruitment issues: we need to ensure we attract the best graduates to careers in PR and offer viable progression routes, so our industry retains the brightest talent."

Martina has extensive experience of governance, having chaired the Boards of two non-profit organisations, D8CEC and Show Racism the Red Card.  She is also a member of the Board of the Liberties Training Centre.
