We are so lucky at Alice PR to have such inspiring clients who run great events. We had a great time yesterday being involved in so many International Women’s Day events. The next few weeks are also shaping up to be super-busy, from getting you healthy and active at WellFest to helping to secure your next job at Career Zoo to empowering people through the Aontas Adult Learner’s Festival!
AONTAS: Adult Learners’ Festival
The 2017 Aontas Adult Learners’ Festival has been taking place all this week, (6th – 10th March). The theme for the week is ‘The Power and Joy of Learning’. It’s a nationwide celebration of adult learning coordinated by AONTAS, the National Adult Learning Organisation. Kicking off the Festival was the AONTAS STAR Awards, which took place in the National Concert Hall on Monday.
Now in its 11th year, the STAR awards celebrate the achievements of adult learners and adult education programmes throughout the island of Ireland. We’ve been working with AONTAS on a PR campaign to highlight the various adult education organisations who have been shortlisted for awards, as well as the Festival’s programme of events and the announcement of the winners of the STAR Awards.

We are delighted to work with the Prader Willi Syndrome Association Ireland (PWSAI) on their launch of their first national survey on the needs of people with PWS, which took place at Buswells Hotel this morning. Minister for Health, Simon Harris TD, officially launched the survey.
PWS is a complex genetic disorder that typically causes low muscle tone, restricted growth, learning difficulties, problem behaviours, and a chronic feeling of hunger that can lead to excessive eating and life-threatening obesity. The survey will highlight the unique needs of people with PWS and the challenges faced by their families when caring for them.
Further information about Prader Willi Syndrome and the survey, please see https://pwsai.ie/.
