We’re ending the week with some exciting news: Dermot Ryan has joined Alice PR in the role of Associate Director.
Dermot has over 25 years’ experience campaigning for change in Ireland and Australia.
He lived in Australia from 2010 to 2017, where he served as Chief of Staff for the Transport Workers’ Union and Head of External Affairs for Amnesty International. He returned to Ireland in 2017, brimming with new ideas, insights and campaign tactics, based on his experiences Down Under.
Prior to moving to Australia, Dermot was co-founder of a leading Irish public affairs consultancy, where he worked for seven years. Earlier in his career, he served in a number of roles with the Chernobyl Children’s Project and the Labour Party, and led the community consultation and public affairs work for the Digital Hub Development Agency.
Dermot is passionate about campaigning for positive change in the community and has served on a number of Boards in a voluntary capacity, including as Chair of Dublin’s South West Inner City Local Employment Service and as a member of the Board of the Healthy Food for All initiative.
In addition to his role as Associate Director at Alice, he is currently Principal of Dermot Ryan Advisory, where he advises clients on complex policy, political and campaigning strategies.
Given his wide-ranging experience in PR, politics and community affairs, we are thrilled to have Dermot Ryan joining #TeamAlice, and look forward to getting him involved in the exciting projects we are working on in 2019!
