Happy International Women’s Day 2022!

A very happy International Women’s Day from all of us here at #TeamAlice!

We’re a lucky bunch here at Alice PR in that we work with incredible women and allies within our own team, and across our suppliers, our clients and our wider network of friends.

This International Women’s Day, many of our clients are holding events and paying tribute to women in their sectors, so we think a round-up of #IWD22 activity is in order:

WorkEqual

Our client WorkEqual will host an online event ‘Examining Bias – Perspectives on Progress’ today with a stellar line-up and hosted by WorkEqual founder Sonya Lennon. The event will highlight various diverse perspectives on gender bias and, as always with WorkEqual, the practical steps that we can all take to combat it. Find out more in The Gloss’ recent ’10 Glossy Things’ round-up here.

SOLAS

Partners on the WorkEqual campaign and dedicated to championing women in Further Education & Training (FET) by opening doors into traditionally male-dominated industries, SOLAS is celebrating ‘Women in FET’ over on ThisIsFET. Read more about change-makers and ground-breakers like Senator Eileen Flynn, Clare Cullen, Laura Mulkeen and Kate Stitt here.

Irish Research Council

Earlier this month, the Irish Research Council was recognised, through an independent review, for the strong gender equality achieved through its funding processes and the share of awards held by women researchers. Today, the IRC will celebrate those women researchers and all women who contribute to the ongoing success of the Irish Research Council. You can read about them here.

Education and Training Boards Ireland

To coincide with International Women’s Day, ETBI will launch a new ‘Worryfree’ campaign today, which will see nine ETBs across the country provide free, sustainable period products to learners and staff as part of a pilot project to address period poverty.

The Housing Agency

Celebrating women across Ireland who are passionate about delivering housing and building communities, The Housing Agency is shining a spotlight on the ‘Women Building Ireland’ with a new video available here.

However you’re celebrating International Women’s Day, we hope you find inspiration from our clients and from the incredible women working across Ireland for the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women right across Ireland and beyond.
