Alice PR has been working with Show Racism the Red Card since we were established. Our MD, Martina Quinn, has been involved with the charity for years and is the chair of the Board!

For those who may not be familiar with the charity, Show Racism the Red Card was founded in the UK in 1995 with a £50 donation from New Castle United’s Shaka Hislop. The Irish branch was established in 2006 with the aim to harness the high profile of sportspeople to combat racism. The organisation works to produce anti-racism education resources and to educate young people through workshops and coaching activities.

This year, Show Racism the Red Card will be hosting their annual Wear Red Day. The charity is calling on schools, businesses, and communities across Ireland to wear red on Friday, 24th November and donate €2 to help raise funds for the charity. All the funds raised through Wear Red Day will be used to create educational resources and programmes to support integration.

Here at Alice PR and Events, we all plan on wearing a red item of clothing on November 24th to support Wear Red Day. We are encouraging everyone we know to join and support this cause! Whether it is a red jumper, or a pair of socks, think of some creative ways you can celebrate Wear Red Day!

Don’t forget to share your Wear Red Day activities on social media using the #WRD17.
