Well, a new year and a fresh new list of ‘PR Moments of the Month’ from Alice PR. Who will have the privilege (or misfortune!) to be awarded the accolade this month, and for the first time this year? Drumroll please!
#Fail:
Last Friday saw the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States of America, Donald Trump. He was at the old Twitter account again and our first #Fail of the year goes to President Trump for tweeting about some poor innocent woman named Ivanka in Brighton instead of his own daughter. On the upside, she used the opportunity well and called him out on his policies on climate change, so maybe she should be in our PR wins list?
“@drgoodspine: @realDonaldTrump @Ivanka Trump is great, a woman with real character and class.”
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 17, 2017
She replied: “And you’re a man with great responsibilities. May I suggest more care on Twitter and more time learning about #climatechange.”

#Win:
Our first win of the year goes to Emmet Kirwan (writer / actor) and Dave Tynan (director) for their piece ‘Heartbreak’ which has taken social media by storm in the last few days.
Set in modern Ireland, powerfully told, it tells the story of one young girl’s journey from her teenage years through pregnancy to raising her son and all that that entails with social pressures, financial difficulties and everyday sexism endured by her.
“There was so much in this girl’s journey and how it was told; the pace, the honesty, the wordplay. There’s an optimism in the final moments that I didn’t see coming. I just wanted to stop everything and make this film,” said Tynan.
In the unlikely event that you haven’t already seen it, here it is:
