There was huge excitement for #TeamAlice today, as the shortlist for the 2021 PR Awards was announced by the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA).

The annual PR Awards – officially the Awards for Excellence in Public Relations – are hosted by the PRCA and the Public Relations Institute of Ireland, and have run for almost 30 years. Each year, they celebrate the very best work of the Irish PR industry over the previous 12 months.

More organisations than ever before entered the 2021 PR Awards – across 27 categories. In all, 59 campaigns were shortlisted by the judging panel, including all four entries submitted by Alice PR!

We are thrilled to be shortlisted in:

  1. The ‘Best PR Event’ category – for our work with SOLAS on the launch of a new strategy for the further education and training (FET) sector. SOLAS launched ‘Future FET: Transforming Learning’ last July. We organised a hybrid event to launch the strategy, with a small number of stakeholders (including Minister Simon Harris and Minister of State Niall Collins from the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science) attending a physical event at Richmond Barracks in Dublin, and hundreds more tuning in online. This was the first in-person event we worked on after the initial Covid-19 Lockdown last year. It challenged us in ways we could never have dreamed possible prior to 2020 but, thankfully, the event was a great success.
  2. The ‘Best Use of Media Relations’ category – for our work with the Family Resource Centre National Forum to highlight the key role played by Family Resource Centres (FRCs) in the Covid-19 response.
  3. The ‘Best Integrated Campaign’ category, a new category for the 2021 PR Awards. We are shortlisted in this category for our work on the 2020 marketing and communications campaign to promote the Springboard+ programme, run by the Higher Education Authority. We used digital communications, event management, stakeholder engagement, media relations and advertising to reach the target audiences for Springboard+.
  4. ‘PRCA Agency of the Year’. For the second year in a row, we’re also shortlisted in the ‘agency of the year’ category – a huge honour for Alice PR & Events.

The (virtual) awards ceremony for the 2021 PR Awards will take place on Friday, 25th June – and we can’t wait. Today’s shortlist announcement makes us so proud of our team and really chuffed for our clients. Let’s hope we have even more to celebrate on 25th June.
