It was a busy long weekend for #TeamAlice. Here are our top recommendations for you!
Out and about
Martina and Eva headed along to see ‘Grief is the Thing with Feathers’ and although Cillian Murphy’s performance was superb, the play adaptation was super intense and didn’t quite live up to the book, in Eva’s opinion. That said, it was great to see Cillian in action.
Darragh checked out The Irish Times Women’s Podcast live recording last night in The Dean with his friend. It featuring Sorcha Pollak and her new book ‘New to the Parish’, which has spun out of her series in The Irish Times of the same name. Whilst there, they headed up to Sophies to take in the 360 degree views – oh and another cocktail!
Asian Dub Foundation’s live scoring of La Haine gets full marks from Eva who was super impressed with the band and recommends getting a ticket next time they tour this show – good to know!
On the plate
Martina had a lovely dinner with friends in The Old Spot in Beggars Bush on Wednesday night whilst Emily went home for Easter and ate everything around her!
Whilst there she also tried out the new Thai restaurant at home in Thurles called Yi Thai. Fierce exotic for Tipperary! It was absolutely lovely and good value too. Recommend it if anyone happens to be passing through!
On the screen
In keeping with the theme of Netflix documentaries, Eva is now engrossed in docuseries, ‘Flint Town’ which follows a small team of police in Flint, Michigan as they navigate their way around crime, local government and corruption. It’s heavy going, but so far she’s enjoying it!
There are a couple of trips to the cinema for #TeamAlice this weekend, with Darragh going to see ‘Call Me By Your Name’ in the Lighthouse Cinema – he’s eager to see that stunning Italian countryside on the big screen!
Finally, Martina is on route to Antrim for a little family weekend away, so she’s looking forward to checking out the local sights.
