It’s been a hectic week at Alice Towers and we welcomed two new members of staff into the fold – Ellen O’Dwyer and Elizabeth Leahy. They’ll be with us until December and we’re thrilled to have them as part of the team! They, along with the rest of #TeamAlice have been out and about this week. Here are our latest recommendations:

Out and about:

Elizabeth went to the Botanic Gardens for the first time and said it was so beautiful and relaxing. She enjoyed escaping into a little bit of nature after exploring the city for the past few weeks and the weather was perfect for it! They only made it through half the gardens so she’s looking forward to going back to see the rest!

Ellen went to Oktoberfest with some friends, seemingly a lot of beer was consumed – but they were just paying tribute to the German festival, of course!

On the plate:

Niamh went to Mooch – a frozen yogurt place on Dawson Street for the first time in about two years. She said it’s lovely and they have a great choice of toppings and it feels marginally healthier than ice-cream! Niamh knows her ice-cream, having queued for over an hour for one during the summer, (remember?) so we trust her recommendations!

Ellen enjoyed a trip to her favourite restaurant – Wagamama. She always tries to persuade whoever she can to go with her – any excuse! She said she’s one of those people that just orders the same dish every time – we get that!

On the page:

recommendation alice pr Elaine mentioned ‘I Found My Tribe’ here last week and although she’s doing her very best to pace herself, she’s flying through it. It’s so beautifully written and poignant and honest. So worth a read. It comes highly recommended.

On the screen:

recommendation alice trainwreckNiamh watched Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck and said it’s good – a few laughs and an easy watch! We’re all way behind on Dr Foster so we’re looking forward to binge-watching that this weekend.

Elaine finally got to the end of The Sopranos. Despite having seen the first few series and the last episode when it originally aired, it was good to watch the whole thing back again and to see the tensions build, the plot unfolding and everything unravelling as the series went on. Such a great series. So worth a (re)watch. Comes highly recommended.

Ellen has been watching and loving Narcos at the moment, a bit late on the bandwagon but better late than never!

Looking forward to…

Elaine is looking forward to a couple of days in Cork – you can’t beat it!

Niamh, Martina and Eva will be working at 404 on Saturday, and Emily has yet another camogie match. G’wan the girls!
