At Alice PR and Events, we mark International Women’s Day every year. We are currently working on a range of client campaigns to mark #IWD2019, as well as planning our own celebration. Here’s a quick look at some of the activities coming up to mark the day.

Dress for Success Dublin

International Women's Day 2019Each year, we support Dress for Success Dublin in running their annual International Women’s Day campaign, their largest annual fundraising and clothing drive. The proceeds from this enable them to continue supporting women across Ireland to achieve financial independence and establish sustainable careers.

Last year’s campaign was the most successful to date, with over 55 organisations supporting the cause – from state agencies to SMEs and multinationals. Activities hosted by participating workplaces included clothing drives, where employees donated an amazing 3,443 items of clothing for the Dress for Success Dublin boutique.

Other events included in-house panel discussions and breakfast briefings with a wide range of speakers, including journalists, politicians, board members and Dress for Success’s very own Sonya Lennon!

The Irish Research Council and Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies

IRC #IWD2018 Info-graphic

In addition to Dress for Success, our clients DIAS (the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies) and the Irish Research Council mark IWD each year.

Last year, we worked on a special infographic for the Irish Research Council, highlighting the work of iconic female researchers on suffrage, equality and other gender-related issues.

We also developed a series of videos for DIAS, featuring female researchers from each of their Schools. The videos explored their work and why they think more women should consider a career in research.

This year, DIAS will mark IWD by highlighting some of the high-profile women who were involved in the Institute historically.

The Irish Research Council, meanwhile, will promote gender-related research opportunities and engage in social media activity throughout the day.

Right at Home Ireland

Right at Home, one of Ireland’s leading homecare providers, are hosting their inaugural International Women’s Day event this Friday with a lunch for all staff at their offices around the country.

Right at Home are inviting all staff – both office and care staff – to join them to celebrate the role of women in their organisation and the contribution they make to both the company and their clients, with lunch at their Dublin, Cork, Galway, Kildare and Wicklow offices.

We look forward to seeing some great shots of their events!

#TeamAlice’s IWD 2019

Of course, here at Alice HQ, we’ll also be marking International Women’s Day 2019. We are proud to be a female-led business, with our amazing Managing Director, Martina Quinn, working alongside a fabulous team of women (and gender-equality-advocating men!).

To mark IWD 2019, we’re having a special staff breakfast.  But because we’ll be tied up with client events on 8th March, we’re postponing it to the following week. We’ll be celebrating the amazing women in our workplace and the work we get to do with our clients to further gender equality across Ireland.

IWD 2018 was a jam-packed affair, and we’re looking forward to another busy day in just two weeks’ time!
