Is AI a Force for Evil or for Good?
Next ‘Alice Asks…’ event to take place in Dublin on 27th June, with focus on ethics and AI
Our very own Eileen Dunne is hosting our next ‘Alice Asks…’ event, which will explore the impact artificial intelligence (AI) is having on society.
Eileen, who joined Alice as a Senior Training Consultant after presenting news and current affairs shows for RTÉ for more than four decades, will chair an expert panel discussion on whether AI is a force for evil or a force for good.
Event Description
In recent years, AI has become an increasingly prominent topic. Advances in generative AI have meant more and more people – and workplaces – are now using this technology every day. But is AI eroding our trust in communications and posing a serious threat to democracy or is it creating amazing new opportunities that will transform how we live and work?
The event will be moderated by RTÉ veteran and Alice’s Senior Training Consultant, Eileen Dunne, and our panellists are:
- Barry Scannell, a member of Ireland’s AI Advisory Council and a Partner in William Fry’s Technology Department, specialising in AI;
- Adele Keane, COO and Creative Director at Imvizar, an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) platform specialising in crafting location-specific experiences;
- Ciarán O’Connor, Senior Analyst at the Institute of Strategic Dialogue, a non-profit organisation working to reverse the tide of polarisation, extremism and disinformation worldwide; and
- Our own founder and CEO, Martina Quinn, who has promoted the ethical use of AI in her role as Chair of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Ireland and as Ireland’s representative on the Board of ICCO, the International Communications Consultancy Organisation.
We’ll address topics including:
- AI’s influence on how information is shared and consumed;
- How AI is being – and should be – regulated;
- How public-sector and non-profit organisations can safely and effectively use generative AI; and
- The pros and cons for organisations seeking to use AI in their everyday work.
The event will take place at Anantara The Marker Dublin Hotel, Grand Canal Quay, Dublin, on the evening of Thursday, 27th June. Registration, along with a welcome drink, is at 4.30pm, with the discussion scheduled to begin at 5pm. The panel discussion will end at 6.15pm, and there will be an opportunity for networking and refreshments afterwards.
This is an exclusive event for clients and friends of Alice. If you would like to attend, please email [email protected] to reserve a place.
