We’re assuming you’re as confused as we are about how on earth its August already. August? Where’s the summer going? The silver lining of another month beginning is that you get to hear all our highlights and recommendations from #TeamAlice’s galivanting in July. We’ve got all the deets Dublin’s newest bar and the scandal from Alice’s latest night out. It was a winner! Here’s this month’s #WhatTickledAlice.

Our July Highlight

The Alice PR team pictured at the Event Industry AwardsThe highlight of July was #TeamAlice’s night out at the Event Industry Awards earlier this month, having been nominated in the Best Launch Event category for our work on the launch of Together for Yes. We were honoured to have Ailbhe Smyth, Co-Director of Together for Yes take to the stage with us as we accepted the award! Needless to say, a night of nights ensued. It was very special to have been recognised for our work on a campaign so close to our hearts.

On the Plate

Darragh attended the official launch of The Well, the newest addition to Dublin’s hospitality scene. Café by day, and bar by night – it’s going to be busy at all times, not least because of the fact that they’re serving Dublin Pizza Company’s delicious offering. Wash it down with their range of craft beers and you’ve got a solid new venue for casual pizza and pints in town. Perfect for the August bank holiday weekend.

Dublin Event AgencyKatie meanwhile checked out Blanchardstown’s Maximillian’s Bistro and Wine Bar. It’s a charming little piano and wine bar located in Blanchardstown Village and offers a authentic Italian menu and a great selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. She tells us that their coffee is also to die for.

On the Screen

She watched the latest season of Stranger Things and while storylines have gone a bit ridiculous, it still gave her the heebie jeebies and left her in floods of tears at the ending (she was very delicate)

Darragh went to see Disney’s latest remake, The Lion King this month. Controversially, he was never a huge fan of the original animated version but loved this retelling. While the soundtrack is a little bit lackluster, the animation surpasses anything that Disney has ever done and there has never been a more pertinent time to be thinking about the ‘Circle of Life’. All in all, it’s definitely worth going to see.

Out and About

Dublin Event PR AgencyIn other news, Emily had a family-filled July, celebrating her mother’s very significant birthday! The Brennan clan had a family lunch in Castle Durrow on what felt like one of the hottest days of the year which she highly recommends for an old-world glam escape from the city the August. The following weekend decamped to Fethard-on-Sea for the weekend, staying in Hookless Holiday Homes, and with too many nieces and nephews to count, it was the perfect spot to stay – they had their own private beach and lots of playgrounds to stay entertained.

Dublin Event PR AgencyNiamh enjoyed a break in lovely Bath last month, where she did her very best to eat in as many restaurants as possible. Bath itself is a great city – the perfect size, you don’t feel overwhelmed with things to do, but also plenty to keep you busy. It’s also just an hour and half on the train from London! Highlights included a trip to the thermal spa; hanging out in the sun on the green at the Royal Crescent and a visit to The Roman Baths museum. Perfect for a weekend getaway that’s a little bit different.

Dublin Event PR AgencyThis month Katie has been reliving her childhood in Greencastle, Co. Donegal. The tiny village home to one of the most beautiful and remote beaches in Ireland, Shroove. Katie spent nearly every childhood holiday evening crab fishing from the coastal rocks, and this year was no different. The trip also gave Katie the chance to share a road-trip with her little sister, the Lion King soundtrack was well and truly butchered along the way.

That’s it for this month. Now we’re off to enjoy the long weekend to have some shenanigans to fill you in on next month!
